Metal pipes and related accessories

The role of pipe fittings is mainly to transport materials, change the direction of materials, realize material diversion and connect pipes of different diameters to control the amount of materials and the flow rate. Through elbows, three-way, four-way and other pipe fittings, it can meet more diverse and more accurate spatial layout of the pipeline system to ensure that the material can meet the specified position of the design flow direction. The flange used for connection plays a connecting role between the pipeline and the pipeline or equipment, ensures the sealing and stability of the connection part, and is more convenient for disassembly and replacement. The support frame and hanger provide support for the pipeline, preventing the pipeline from deformation or displacement due to its own weight, material pressure and other reasons, and ensuring the normal use of the pipeline system.

Non-metallic pipes, fittings and flanges


With the progress of material science, non-metallic materials have also been widely tested and applied in pressure pipeline systems. For example, plastic pipelines are widely used in urban drainage systems, which not only effectively prevents water pollution, but also installs quickly and costs relatively low. The combination of non-metallic pipe fittings and flanges and non-metallic pipes ensures the integrity and sealing of the entire pipeline, providing more options for the design and application of pressure pipeline systems.

Valves


The valve is an important part of the pressure pipe element, which can adjust the flow rate, pressure and flow direction of the material. The common valve types are knife gate valve, ball valve, butterfly valve and cut-off valve. The knife gate valve is often used in the scene of full opening or full closing, and the flow resistance is small. The cut-off valve can adjust the material flow more accurately, which is suitable for the situation where the material control is more accurate ; the ball valve switch is fast and the sealing performance is very good, which is often used in the occasion of fast cutting off the fluid. Butterfly valve structure is relatively simple.It is suitable for the flow regulation of various pipelines, but the baffle is more vulnerable to material impact and damage than the knife gate valve.


The selection and use of valves are very important for the normal operation of the pressure pipeline system. Under the requirements of different working conditions and processes, it is necessary to select valves of suitable types and specifications to ensure the stable flow of materials according to the design requirements.

Expansion joints and bellows


The expansion joint is usually composed of metal bellows and structural parts, which has good flexibility and pressure resistance. It can be stretched or contracted within a fixed range. The expansion joint and bellows are mainly responsible for compensating the thermal expansion and cold contraction of the pipeline in the pressure pipeline system, and absorbing vibration and displacement. During the normal use of the pipeline, due to temperature changes, material flow and other factors, the pipeline will produce a certain amount of expansion and displacement. If the expansion joint and bellows are not used to absorb these expansion and displacement through their own elastic deformation, the pipeline will be damaged due to large stress.

Sealing elements and special elements


The seal is one of the main components to ensure the sealing of the pressure pipeline system. Common seals include gaskets, sealing fillers, etc. The sealing gasket is usually installed between the flange connection surfaces, which can fill the sealing gap and prevent material leakage. Under different pressure and material conditions, different types of sealing gaskets need to be selected, such as asbestos gaskets, rubber gaskets, metal wound gaskets and so on. Although the proportion of seal in the whole pressure system is very small, its role is very important. It is the key to maintain the pressure in the pipeline and the important reason to ensure the normal operation of the material without leakage. The quality and performance of seals are directly related to the safety and reliability of the pressure pipeline system.
